    Confetti Eggs

We need your cleaned egg shells for Carnival.  Wash them out with soapy water, let them dry, match them up and put them back in the carton.  When your carton is full, write your child’s name and teacher’s name on the outside and send it in!  Eggs must be clean; if they are not we will not be able to use them and they will not counted for your child or their classroom.

OUR GOAL IS 1000 DOZEN EGG SHELLS!
We are asking that each student
bring in at least 2 dozen cleaned egg shells by April 30.

Lots of prizes!!  The top 3 students who submit the most clean eggs shells will win 5 ride tickets, 15 game booth tickets plus 1 dozen confetti eggs!  The students with the next highest amount of clean eggs shells sent in from each grade level will win 15 game booth tickets plus a dozen confetti eggs!

The class that collects the most egg shells will win a pizza party, the 2nd place class will win a big cookie party, and the 3rd place class will win an ice cream party!

We are also looking for confetti egg stuffers, so if you want to something to do while watching television, or if you or someone you know needs service hours, just contact Keysha Dixon at klbdixon@hotmail.com She will provide you with the eggs, tape, and confetti.  Stuffing eggs is a great and easy way for working parents to volunteer their time.

    Talent Showcase

This year, our Talent Showcase will take place on Saturday, May 11th at 6 pm on an outside stage.  Information is going home today regarding tryouts.  Due to time restraints Talent Showcase will be limited to no more than 20 acts. Please explain this to your child.  Please help your child have their costumes, music and acts ready to go for tryouts.  Tryouts will be held April 30th at 3:30 pm.

    Volunteers Needed

It’s only 4 weeks until Carnival!  Please download a volunteer form (below). We need every parent to fill one out and send it back to school so we can start planning the schedules.  It’s easy and fun, so please volunteer at least 2 ½ hours of your time.  Fill in your 1st and 2nd choices of shifts (and list 2nd volunteers too), and send it back to school as soon as possible.  We really appreciate your help!  Please contact Samantha Miller at 938-3939 or mmmillerbug@aol.com  with questions.

Volunteering is not limited to PARENTS! We gladly welcome GRANDPARENTS, AUNTS, UNCLES, & HIGH SCHOOL GROUPS.

Without your support and willingness to work a shift, this event would not be possible.  It is the largest PTA fundraiser and generates over 50% of our operating budget each year.  It is a wonderful school and community event.  The children and parents look forward to it every year!

FISH FRY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! to help fry or prepare the Friday night catfish dinners.

    Silent Auction Donations

This is one of the highlights of Carnival every year.  Items that have been donated by companies are up for auction. Bids are taken throughout the weekend, and at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, the highest bid wins the item.  We need donated items from companies, and we need your help!  If you work for a company or have a contact within a company that would be willing to donate any new item or gift card to our auction, please contact one of our Donations Chairpersons: Michelle Heughan at michelleheughan@gmail.com or Paula Smith at shenandoahpres@hotmail.com

Gift Baskets will be auctioned in our Silent Auction.  These baskets consist of NEW ONLY donated items from our parents. Each classroom has a theme. When students bring items to school, their name will be entered in a drawing for 10 gamebooth tickets. There will be one winner from EACH class!
Click here to see a list of each classroom's gift basket theme.

Also, for the basket that brings in the most money from Silent Auction, the teacher will receive 100% of the purchase price to ab used for her classroom! Other prizes will be given to top money-bringing baskets.

Attention Companies!!  Do you own or work for a business that would be willing to donate an item or service to the silent auction? Our carnival is the biggest fundraiser of the year and the silent auction is a huge draw. All donations are tax deductible. If needed, we will send a donation letter and arrange to pick up the item, or items can be delivered to school marked “Silent Auction”.

    Vendors

We have a limited area outside for some vendors to rent a space during Carnival.  The cost is $50.00 for the weekend, plus a donated item for our Silent Auction.  Items that compete with Carnival are not allowed (no food, drinks, games), and vendors are responsible for their items throughout the weekend.  Vendors must be approved in advance, please contact Samantha Miller @ 938-3939 or mmmillerbug@aol.com  if interested.
